Also I heard the balance patch is supposed to be free.

Heads will roll if it's not.

I'm thinking about getting Third Strike Online...the fact that it's perfectly emulated on my laptop is making me hesitant however.

Also, since 3SOE is based off of GGPO, it will no longer be supported on GGPO, so aside from Supercade and shitty Kaillera, you're going to have to buy the PSN/XBLA version for the perfect online experience.

Eh...... they're not bad at all, but FAR inferior to the original tracks. But the menu and select screen tracks are epic. DON'T THINK THAT I CAN KNOCK YOU OUT afro

Only like 2 or 3 of the new remixes are okay. The rest is WHY.

Um, nope. All classic themes are there by default. It's the original menu music and select screen music that need to be unlocked. Remixes must also be unlocked, but those are fucking garbage so don't bother.

Also the game uses the PS2/DC version of the soundtrack instead of the original CPS3 version which was just downgraded synth versions of the real themes.
